Dr. Wayne Feng, MD, is a tenured Professor of Neurology and Biomedical Engineering at Duke University School of Medicine. He serves as Chief of the Division of Stroke & Vascular Neurology and Medical Director of the Duke Comprehensive Stroke Center. A board-certified vascular neurologist and physician-scientist, Dr. Feng’s research focuses on post-stroke recovery, particularly through imaging biomarkers and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), vagus nerve stimulation, and low-intensity focused ultrasound. His work has been consistently funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the American Heart Association (AHA), and other major research bodies. Currently, he leads TRANSPORT 2, a multi-center NIH-funded trial on transcranial stimulation for stroke recovery. With over 150 peer-reviewed publications and editorial experience, Dr. Feng is a recognized leader in neural repair and rehabilitation, contributing significantly to global stroke research and mentoring initiatives.
