Professor Nora Ellen Groce is based at University College London where she holds the Leonard Cheshire Chair and is Director of the International Disability Research Program in the Department of Epidemiology and Health Care.   A medical anthropologist by training Professor Groce works on issues related to vulnerable populations in global health and international development, with a particular focus on people with disabilities in low and middle-income countries.  Much of her research has concentrated on the long-term disabling consequences of infectious disease.  Professor Groce is widely published, sits on a number of national and international Committees and Boards and served on the academic faculties of Harvard Medical School and Yale School of Public Health before joining University College London in 2008.
