Dr. Jeyaraj Durai Pandian is an esteemed neurologist and global leader in stroke research and advocacy. He currently serves as the Principal (Dean) and Professor of Neurology at Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana, India, and is the President of the World Stroke Organization (WSO). With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Dr. Pandian has been instrumental in advancing stroke care, epidemiology, and thrombolysis, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. His leadership roles include past presidencies of the Indian Stroke Association and the World Stroke Campaign International Working Group. He is a Fellow of multiple prestigious organizations, including the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the Royal College of Physicians, and the European Stroke Organization. Dr. Pandian’s contributions to global health policy are evident in his role as a member of the WHO’s Strategic Advisory Group for Non-Communicable Diseases. In recognition of his impact, he received the WSO Global Stroke Services Award in 2020.
