Christina Kruuse is a Neurologist, Senior Consultant and Head of Research at the Department of Brain and Spinal Cord Injury, Neuroscience Centre, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, and Professor of Neurorehabilitation at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Specializing in neurology and neurorehabilitation, her translational research focuses on acquired brain injury including cerebrovascular disease and traumatic brain injury, the pathophysiology of injury, mechanisms of neuro-recover, and neurorehabilitation. Her research group also works at integrating new technologies, neurostimulation and AI in acquired brain injury diagnostics, neuroimaging, therapy, and outcome. She leads the Copenhagen NeuroInjury and Rehabilitation Research Centre (CNIRC) comprising a multidisciplinary research team. She serves on several national and international committees and boards, including the European Stroke Organisation’s Neurorehabilitation Committee, the Danish National Medical Research Ethics Committee, and the Danish Stroke Society. She has chaired the Danish Resuscitation Council’s national stroke campaign and contributes to public outreach through patient education initiatives and collaborations with patients’ organizations.
