Dr. Turkeltaub is a cognitive neurologist and neuroscientist who specializes in aphasia neurorehabilitation and the brain basis of language. His research aims to reveal brain mechanisms underlying aphasia and alexia in order to improve diagnosis and treatment. He earned an MD and PhD in neuroscience from Georgetown University and completed his neurology residency and cognitive neurology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Turkeltaub directs the Cognitive Neurology Lab and the NIH-funded Neuroscience of Language Training Program at Georgetown University and the Aphasia Clinic at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital and is administrative PI of the Stroke Capital Area Network for Research.
