Dr Carol Hawley PhD is a psychologist and academic researcher working in the field of neurorehabilitation for over 30 years, based at Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick. She has led many research studies on a range of neurological conditions among patients across the lifespan from childhood to old age. She has particular research interests in traumatic brain injury and stroke. Dr Hawley has worked with UK government departments (Department of Health, Department for Transport, Department for Education) and with other stakeholders, policymakers, patient organizations and advocacy groups. She serves on various boards and committees dedicated to neurological rehabilitation. She is a long-standing member of the World Federation of NeuroRehabilitation (WFNR) and chairs the WFNR special interest group on driving and neurological rehabilitation. She serves as a board member of the International Brain Injury Association; and was founder member and chair of the International Paediatric Brain Injury Society.
