Professor Khandaker is a public health physician and global health researcher whose work is defined by a deep commitment to social justice, health equity, and the dignity of all children. As Executive Director of Medical Services at Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service and Adjunct Professor at Central Queensland University, he has combined clinical insight with systems thinking to shape policy and practice across diverse settings. Professor Khandaker serves as Principal Investigator and lead of the Global LMIC Cerebral Palsy Register www.glmcpr.org —a pioneering effort to document and address the unmet needs of children with disabilities in low- and middle-income countries. Through the lens of implementation science, he has led transformative initiatives that translate evidence into context-specific interventions for early diagnosis, rehabilitation, and nutrition in some of the world’s most underserved communities. With over 200 peer-reviewed publications, Prof. Khandaker’s work bridges research, policy, and frontline practice.
