Dr. Seshadri is an Assistant Professor (Department of Neurology, University of Rochester), Speech-Language Pathologist (University of Rochester Medical Center) and an Educator. As a clinician she developed innovative therapeutic techniques for patients with neurogenic communication disorders. She has taught courses in clinical speech-language pathology, motor-speech disorders, and qualitative research methods. She led the International Neuropalliative Care Society’s national task force of rehabilitation specialists and integrated the Neuropalliative Care principles into a neurorehabilitation model of care adapted from the WHO’s ICF model. Dr. Seshadri’s research program focuses on improving quality of life for patients and families affected by serious neurological diseases. She currently leads a 5-year study funded by the National Institutes of Health to develop and test an intervention for carers of persons with Parkinson’s disease and Lewy-body dementia. She has published and presented on neuropalliative care topics at local, national, and international forums.
